A Trusted & Experienced Mental Health Professional
I'm Skyler Whitley, a lifelong Oregonian and resident of Portland since 2011. I am passionate about my local community and the values of equity, social justice, and disability rights.
My services exist to meet the needs of the neurodivergent community. I specialize in providing mental health services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including autism, Down syndrome, and other forms of neurodiversity. I am here to support you with managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges.
I currently provide all services via secure Telehealth software. I accept OHP/Medicaid health insurance (CareOregon/HealthShare mental health plan). I am not able to accept other insurance at this time.
My approach includes:
- A client-centered and strength-based foundation: You are the expert, and you make decisions about your own treatment goals and needs. I am here to support you through the process.
- Prioritizing accessibility for you and your team: I am happy to include other members of your team in sessions, if that is helpful
- A combination of evidence-based therapeutic strategies, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and motivational interview (MI).
It is crucial that people with disabilities have access to mental health counselors who can meet their unique needs. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health and disability service fields, my mission is to fill that service gap. Let's work together to achieve your goals!
